Simple- "You make money by doing things better than your opponents, lose money by doing worse. Just being intelligent doesn't automatically make you money, you have to actively outplay them or let them outplay themselves by being idiots. You're probably making spewier bluffs and plays than many of your opponents, and that's canceling out everything you do better than them.
